TSA Music Sweeps Top Awards at
"Music In The Parks", Cedar Point, 2006

The Toledo School for the Arts Band, Choir, Orchestras, and Jazz Ensemble captured all (yes all) of the top awards at the "Music In The Parks" Festival held at Cedar Point May 19-20, 2006.

The TSA ensembles earned First Place with Superior Ratings in the Class A Concert Band, Choir, String Orchestra, Full Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble categories.

In addition, the Band, Choir, and Full Orchestra were each given an "Overall Award" for the highest point total of any group in their category regardless of classification.

Two TSA Jazz Combo performers, Conor Tuohy and C.J. Blair, were awarded "Outstanding Jazz Soloist" awards by the judges; these were the only solo awards given at the festival.

The Band was directed by Jay Welenc. The Choir was conducted by Jamie Dauel. The Orchestras were directed by Jay Welenc and Virgil Lupu. The Jazz Combo was directed by Ken Zuercher and Jay Welenc.
