New Applicant FYI

Open House

The New Student Opent House is scheduled on January 23, 2010 at 10:00am.* This Open House will provide interested families with information about the curriculum, transportation, academic programs and electives, as well as current graduation requirements

*In the event of inclement weather, the New student Open House Snow Date is scheduled on January 30, 2010 at 10:00am.

Waiting List

The current waiting list is cleared on December 31 of each school year. All students on the waiting list must reapply for the next school year.

The new waiting list is established after all available grade levels are filled to capacity. Upon lottery draw, your family will be notified in writing of waiting list placement.

Application

Applications can be printed from our website. Due to postage costs, enrollment packets are available for pick up only in the first floor office or at the Open House. Beginning at Open House, applications will be processed for the upcoming school year.

Complete Files

A checklist of required documents is included within this FAQ page. All required items must be included with the application. Missing items will force the application to be placed on "hold" until all items are received.

Interviews

Interviews are solely to assist in the scheduling process, not to determine entrance into TSA. Skill levels are assessed and appropriate classes are recommended.

As openings become available, only those with completed files will be scheduled for interviews.

Shadowing

Following the Open House, TSA makes shadowing available to applicants with complete files on First Fridays. Applicants with scheduled interviews take priority.

First Friday

First Fridays are an exceptional opportunity to see our students in action and receive a student-guided tour of the building. The program begins at 9:00am with refreshments on the first friday of each month. The performance begins at 9:30am and ends at approximately 10:00am.

My Art

Junior Division applicants, without exception, will take classes in all the art areas provided at TSA (Theatre, Music, Visual Arts and Dance). Senior Division applicants will have the opportunity to explore and/or choose a Major program of interest.

Better My Odds

Since upper grade level student movement is very rare at TSA, families are strongly encouraged to apply in the sixth grade and continue their natural educational process through TSA.
