Michael Lang comes to us from the Broadway stage where he was featured for nearly a decade as the “Tumbling Carpet” and went on many times in the role of Lefou in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.  Michael is originally from Indianapolis, IN where he started dancing at the age of four and doing musical theater and television / radio commercials at the age of six.

Michael studied ballet at the Jordan School of Fine Arts with Betty Gore & Jack Copland. He also studied ballet, tap and jazz with Linda Rees as part of the Dance Magic Performing Arts Co. in Indpls., IN. 

In his adult life he studied with Gus Girodano and at Lou Conte’s in Chicago and with various instructors at Steps and Broadway Dance Center in NYC. Michael was also a high ariel tumbler which he studied for many years with the late Dwight McPheeters. During Michael’s high school years he was also an Indiana State Champion Spring Board Diver.

Some of Michael’s other performing credits include: Beauty and the Beast – Original Los Angeles Co. & the Broadway Company; Cats – Hamburg GM; Dames at Sea; Hello Dolly – Chicago, IL; A Chorus Line – Michigan Ensemble; 42nd Street – Indpls, IN; Grease – Miami, FL and many others.
Television / Film – Cold Case; Late Night with David Letterman; The Rosie O’Donald Show; General Hospital.

Michael has taught dance at various studios in the mid-west and on the east coast. He taught competitive gymnastics and was the diving coach for Warren Central High School in Indpls. Currently he teaches Musical Theater and Jazz for The Toledo Ballet.  He was the Artistic Director / Choreographer for their spring production Ballet Tapestry of American Music and has developed a new contemporary avant-garde performing arts company, Magie du Théâtre.

Michael is also a NSCA Certified Personal Trainer and a NY licensed Massage Therapist. In his massage practice he has worked on people like Alex Rodriguez of the NY Yankees and many of broadways top dancers and performers. Michael has a deep passion for the internal arts of Tai Chi and Chi Gung and has studied with some of the top Masters and Grandmasters of the United States and China.

Michael is thrilled to be a part of the TSA family and to share his years of experience and passion with the future artists of the world.
