The TSA Outreach Program is a unique opportunity for our students to serve the community, refine their skills, and raise funds for the school. Our mission is to provide students with creative opportunities to achieve personal and academic success through arts-based learning. Instead of traditional fundraising (selling candy bars or wrapping paper) our talented students engage in regular performances throughout the community to raise an awareness of the importance of the arts. This “real world” experience provides students the ability to engage in their art form through service-learning. Whether your event requires the sophistication of a string quartet or the big sound of an R&B band, a TSA performance is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. We have been featured around town at such venues as Crosby Festival, Art on the Mall, Arts Gone Wild, Toledo Museum of Arts, Toledo Zoo, just to name a few. Urban Jazz Collective: The finest young jazz group in Ohio, the TSA Urban Jazz Collective has been recognized at the Ohio and Michigan Music Educator’s Association Conferences as well as many local and regional festivals. They’ve performed at the Art Tatum Jazz Festival and appear regularly at Murphy’s Jazz Club.

String Quartet: Perfect for dressing up any event, the musicians of the TSA String Quartet present a polished performance ideal for meetings, weddings, luncheons and receptions.

Glass City Steel, TSA’s Steel Drum Band: An exciting performance group featuring the popular sounds of Caribbean steel drum bands, this nine-member ensemble plays events and concerts. The happy sounds are immediately appealing to a wide audience, and are a hit at every appearance.

Afro-Caribbean Dance & Drums: A high-energy performance company available for events, concerts and school programs, our Afro-Caribbean Dance & Drum troupe features authentic African and Central American dance and drumming, plus original choreography flavored with traditional styles. Colorful costumes, excellent dancing and the thrilling beat of drums makes this a very appealing offering.

Holiday Ensemble: A combination of vocal, string, wind and jazz musicians provide perfect seasonal entertainment through the month of December. Popular and sacred tunes celebrate the season with exceptional performances by young musicians.
*(Available Thanksgiving through Christmas)

Pop Combo: A big-sounding R&B band with singers, horns and awesome rhythm provide a great opportunity for dancing. As polished as many professional bands, the TSA Pop Combo plays classic cover tunes perfect for parties.

Chamber Winds: A small group of well-prepared instrumentalists perform chamber music for the most noble of settings. Flute, Oboe and double reed instruments perform classic and contemporary pieces. Perfect for intimate gatherings and house parties.

Pageant Puppets: Larger-than-life puppets travel around your event, interacting with audiences and delighting adults and children alike. The 12-foot high puppets attract attention to the human-sized performers creating an unusual and memorable experience for your outdoor festival or event.

Visual Art: TSA student artists have created murals, advertising campaigns, graphic designs, holiday cards, fun face painting, and art exhibitions. Clients may help define the work that TSA students will carry out, or be provided with a complete package. Call to discuss your needs.

Actors: TSA students have appeared in many area commercials as well as area stage performances. Let TSA help you find the right young talent for your production or event.

Customize your Event: TSA performers have offered custom event for the Toledo Museum of Art, the University of Toledo, Toledo Rotary, Arts Commission of Greater Toledo, Lourdes College, Toledo Jazz Society, Toledo Ballet, and many area organizations and festivals.
