Toledo School for the Arts is happy to announce Online Applications for the 2015-16 School Year.
Applications may be submitted via the Apply Now button below.
All applications reviewed and approved as complete by January 30, 2015 will be included in the February 27, 2015 Lottery.
After the 1/30/15 date, potential students are still welcome to apply, but will be placed into "deferred" status and added to the 2015-16 Waiting List as needed to supplement the list created by the New Student Lottery in the order the applications are turned in and verified complete.
If you have questions regarding our Enrollment process, please call our dedicated Enrollment Line at 419-246-8732 x250.
Want to find out more about TSA before applying? Check out any of our events! TSA hosts over 125 events a year, giving you many opportunities to see what the school can offer your student.
Please note: TSA is no longer accepting applications for the 2014-15 school year.
The 2015-16 application form and checklist are currently available for completion on the TSA website at www.ts4arts.org under the Enrollment tab. Completed applications received during the open application period (between October 3 and January 30) will be entered into our New Student Lottery. Please note that for an application to be considered complete, you MUST submit all required documentation by the appropriate deadline. Applications completed after January 30 will be considered “deferred” and only added to waitlist created by New Student Lottery, if needed.
What is included in the required documentation?
Application Fee ($20 non-refundable), immunization records, grade card (current grade report and final 2013-14), current full year schedule (high school students), unofficial transcript (current grades 10 and 11 only), proof of residency, birth certificate, social security card, standardized test scores, and if applicable: current IEP and ETR, custodial paperwork, or home school portfolio. You may refer to 2015-16 Application Checklist for more information, however applicants are required to provide documentation as specified by individualized application checklist.
Interviews and auditions are still necessary for admission and will be scheduled individually based on lottery numbers drawn. These interviews are held solely to assist in the scheduling process and to determine appropriate skill levels. They do not determine entrance into TSA. 2015 dates include (but are not limited to) March 7 and 21.
TSA now has an average of 100 students per grade level. Current students are given the opportunity to re-enroll for the following school year, thus we will not know the exact number of openings per grade level until the re-enrollment process is completed (initial acceptance notifications occurring mid to late April/ May).
When is the Lottery? Does a lottery number mean I'm accepted?
The lottery will be held February 27, 2015. A lottery number means that you had a complete application accepted before the lottery deadline of January 30. Each application that is verified as complete before the January 30 deadline will receive a lottery number and each number issued will be drawn. It is the order in which the numbers are drawn, in conjunction with the projected number of available openings, which determines the order in which students are scheduled for interviews. Please note that a lottery ticket does not guarantee an interview and also that an interview does not guarantee acceptance.
All applications for the 2015-16 school year are processed online. You may check the status of your student’s application via the SchoolAdmin Parent Portal at any time, bearing in mind that application import and review is a process and changes to the application status will be gradual. Upon review and acceptance of all necessary documentation, your application checklist will be marked as “Eligible for Lottery” and notification of lottery number will be sent via email.
